Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) is an evidence-based practice (EBP) designed to help people diagnosed with mental illness learn new skills and knowledge to help manage their symptoms and stressors. You've likely heard people talking about it, or seen the big binder in your office. It's possible you've even looked into the binder and thought Geez, there's a lot of good stuff in here, but no way is Joe working on this binder with me. It looks boring! Come to this training, then - we'll explore the wonderful, 11 chapter world of IMR and we'll learn how to make the material come alive for your clients!
Objectives:
Participants will learn to assist clients in defining and setting recovery goals, understand how to help clients learn and practice skills, and how to structure sessions with clients
Participants will have a basic understanding of how to apply this practice in groups

Homelessness is becoming more and more common among the people served by RADIAS Health. We offer this training to increase awareness, skill, and knowledge of available resources to support people we serve who are experiencing homelessness.
Objectives:
Attendees will be able to identify contributing factors to both short term and long-term homelessness
Attendees will learn strategies for engagement with people experiencing homelessness
Attendees will be aware of local resources available for persons who are in shelters and those who are living outdoors.
ACT Team leaders have a unique challenge of both leading and managing within a highly structured and demanding model of care. Throughout this six part leadership training series, team leaders will gain skills needed to self-assess their teams' current practices in relation to ACT fidelity, problem solve and identify solutions to their team specific barriers, and build continuous quality improvement plans.
Part 4: Clinical and Rehabilitative Anchors. This session will focus on the anchoring the teams work through intentional integration of therapy, enhancing the clinical practices by all team members and the structured use of psychiatric rehabilitation practices.
This is a three-day training. Participants will be able to identify how mental illness and substance use disorders are inter-related and will receive basic information about brain chemistry as it relates to substance use disorders.
Participants will be able to identify stages of change and stages of treatment
Participants will review and identify appropriate interventions for each stage of change
Participants will become familiar with basic concepts of Motivational Interviewing
Participants will have the opportunity to create a treatment plan based on diagnostic information and scenarios.

Psychiatric medications are often used in the management of mental health and substance use disorders. Various medications affect mood, attention, behavior, and thought processes. This training will provide an overview of commonly prescribed medications, what they are used for, and associated side effects. This training contains significant medical terminology
Objectives:
Participants will have an understanding of commonly prescribed psychiatric medications and their role in treating mental health and substance use disorders.
Participants will be aware of common side effects and strategies for helping people communicate their concerns with the prescriber.
Participants will be aware of trends and emerging practices associated with the use of psychiatric medications.
This training will provide an overview of the civil commitment process with a focus on the case manager's role. We will review the steps leading up to commitment, the types of petitions, and what happens after someone is civilly committed. We will explain reporting requirements and revocations.
