“Recovery is possible” is a core value of RADIAS Health and guides the organization’s mission to support individuals on their journey towards well-being. At the core of this commitment is a continuum of care which spans from short-term crisis management lasting one to ten days, to Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs designed for lasting engagement over several years.
RADIAS Health consistently applies evidence-based practices throughout its continuum of care. These practices serve to ensure that each client receives interventions that are informed by research and tailored to their unique needs. In addition, RADIAS Health recognizes the profound impact that trauma can have on mental health and recovery. As such, the organization is committed to providing trauma-informed care across all programs, fostering environments that promote safety, trust, empowerment, and healing.
Trauma-Informed Care
Recognizing that many individuals seeking support have experienced trauma, RADIAS Health incorporates trauma-informed practices throughout its services. Staff are trained to understand the impact of traumatic experiences, to avoid re-traumatization, and to respond with compassion and sensitivity. The organization strives to create spaces where clients feel physically and emotionally safe, and where their voices are respected. Trauma-informed care at RADIAS Health emphasizes empowering individuals, fostering resilience, and supporting recovery in a manner that honors each person’s unique history.
Illness Management and Recovery (IMR)
IMR is a structured program that helps individuals with serious mental illness set meaningful goals, learn about their conditions, and develop personalized strategies for managing symptoms and building resilience. Through a combination of psychoeducation, skills training, and personalized planning, IMR empowers clients to take an active role in their recovery. Within RADIAS Health’s continuum, IMR is frequently incorporated into both crisis stabilization and long-term treatment, fostering self-efficacy from the earliest moments of care through sustained support.
Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT)
IDDT addresses the complex needs of individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use disorders. Rather than treating these challenges in isolation, IDDT blends mental health and recovery services into a cohesive model, delivered by the same team throughout the client’s care journey. At RADIAS Health, IDDT provides coordinated treatment for clients transitioning from crisis intervention to community support, addressing co-occurring disorders to reduce relapses and support holistic recovery.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, person-centered counseling approach designed to enhance motivation for change. By fostering empathy, listening deeply, and honoring the client’s autonomy, MI helps individuals explore their ambivalence and build readiness for positive steps towards their goals. At RADIAS, MI is foundational whether staff are engaging someone in acute crisis or supporting long-term recovery, the MI approach meets clients where they are, nurturing hope and acknowledging their inner strengths.
CBT and DBT Services
RADIAS Health provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in its programs. CBT focuses on changing negative thought patterns to improve behavior and emotions. DBT, which balances acceptance with change, involves individual therapy, group skills training, and phone coaching over several months. Both approaches are effective to manage emotional dysregulation and address various mental health conditions. RADIAS Health is proud to have a DBT-certified outpatient clinic.
The Continuum of Care
RADIAS Health’s continuum of care means that no matter where someone enters, they receive services grounded in evidence-based practices. Programs include Homeless Outreach, Crisis support, Intensive Residential Treatment Services, along with outpatient and community-based services including housing support. Our commitment to evidence-based practices ensures consistency in the quality of care, and flexibility to adapt interventions as clients’ needs evolve. These practices, applied across the continuum, transform every interaction into an opportunity for meaningful progress.
Making a Difference, One Encounter at a Time
By embedding evidence-based and trauma-informed practices throughout our programs, RADIAS Health ensures that each touchpoint provides an opportunity to the possibility of recovery. Staff are trained to utilize these approaches, supported by ongoing supervision and a culture of learning. In this way, RADIAS Health provides a high standard of care and upholds the core belief that every individual, with the right support, can reclaim their story and pursue a life of hope and possibility.
